Managing Memory Care Symptoms to Enhance Our Residents’ Quality of Life

We recognize that memory loss extends beyond simple forgetfulness, often presenting complex behavioral and emotional difficulties. Our compassionate and highly trained staff are adept at navigating these complexities, offering tailored support for critical emotional and physical issues such as:

Mental Health Decline

At Immanuel Campus of Care, we understand the profound emotional impact of cognitive decline. Our team provides compassionate care and engagement strategies to mitigate feelings of sadness and isolation.

Emotional Outbursts

Our highly trained staff understands the unique emotional challenges faced by those with memory impairments. Our caregivers are skilled in de-escalation techniques and creating calming environments to manage and understand the triggers behind emotional fluctuations.

Wandering

Wandering is a real danger for those with memory challenges. Our secured memory unit is designed with safety measures that allow safe wandering, giving families peace of mind. Residents can explore their surroundings comfortably while knowing they are protected in a nurturing environment.

Confusion

Perhaps nothing is more frustrating to memory care patients suffering confusion over familiar faces, names, memories, etc. Through consistent routines, clear communication, and a supportive atmosphere, we strive to reduce confusion and foster a sense of familiarity for our residents.

Assistance With ADLs

As we age, the inability to perform basic activities becomes more noticeable. Our compassionate caregivers assist patients experiencing memory loss with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, and toileting.

Social Connections

We believe in the power of companionship and personalized engagement to enhance our residents’ quality of life. We encourage social interaction through structured activities and entertainment, helping them build connections.

Our beautiful desert community is designed with resident satisfaction at its core, and this is especially true for our memory care wing. It features secured gates with keypad access to allow safe wandering, a common risk for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Additionally, we provide ample community spaces, including multiple courtyards, a dining hall, an activity room, and a sensory room to foster social interaction among residents.
